1st Half Spring Term
As part of our Literacy lessons, we will be reading the story ‘Queen of the Falls’ written by Chris Van Allsburg. We will use this story to inspire our work which will include character descriptions and diary entries.
Our Mathematics lessons will be focusing on adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions. We will also be learning how to use the formal column method for long multiplication.
During our art lessons this half term, we will taking inspiration from historical monuments and modern installations to plan, by researching and drawing, a sculpture to fit a design brief.
Our Science lessons will be all about Forces where we will learn about the famous British scientist, Sir Isaac Newton.
Our PE days will be Monday and Thursday. On Mondays, we will be taking part in indoor gymnastic activities. On Thursdays, we will be learning the rules of cricket and applying them in a game.
2nd Half Spring Term
As part of our Literacy lessons, we will be reading the story ‘The Man Who Walked Between the Towers’ written by Mordicai Gerstein. We will use this story to inspire our work which will include fact files, characters descriptions and letters of advice.
Our Mathematics lessons will be focusing on measurement and statistics. We will also be learning about the properties of shapes.
During our D&T lessons this half term, we will be learning about controllable vehicles and the children the opportunity to design and make their own in small groups.
Our Science lessons will be all about All Living Things where we will learn about habitats and lifecycles of different species.
Our PE days will be Monday and Thursday. On Mondays, we will be taking part in Sports-Hall Athletics. On Thursdays we will be continuing our learning about cricket.
